Self tanners

So I don't know about you guys but, I'm pale... super pale.
I have been thinking about using self tanner to add a little color to my arms and legs.
I don't go to tanning beds or lay out. Nothing against people who do, I just choose not to.
Have you guys ever used them before? Because I just found out there is a million different brands and applications. Lotions, spray, and now wipes?
Self tanners
With all these choices I have began a search for a self tanner that
1. Doesn't leave residue or streaks in clothing and etc.
2. Sweat protective
3. Doesn't smell terrible
4. Looks very natural

Have any recommendations or advice? I'll be sure to let you know what kind I get and how it goes!

  1. I've used the Victoria's Secret beach sexy before but in the tube form, not this spray one you have pictured. It works really really well. However, I mostly use Jergens Natural Glow Express and really like it as well. It works quickly and isn't that gross orange color. It really is natural! It does have that slight tanning lotion smell but it's not too bad!

    1. I used Jergens before and enjoyed it so I may just have to go back! I just need to do something asap before it gets embarrassing. :)

  2. Oh the joys of being super pale - less sun damage but that embarrassing casper glow :)
After trying one million products (or close to it), here are my recommendations:

    Drugstore: Jergens Natural Glow Express

Sephora: St. Tropez self-tanning mousse, tinted (apply at night after exfoliating, wear latex gloves - like the kind at the dr.'s office - so you don't have to worry about your palms getting orange, and just apply a little to the backs of your hands when you're done, great for your face, too, just be sure to mix it with a little face lotion so the color isn't too strong for your face!) When you wake up, the bronze tint will wash off in the shower leaving behind the PERFECT natural tan. Plus, Sephora has a terrific money-back return policy just in case it doesn't work for you... but trust me, it will!

Sephora: Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads - for face (These are face wipes with great skin treatment properties, like a mini-facial in a wipe. They also contain a natural-looking self tanner that is long lasting - about 5 days or so! I use these once a week at night to give my face just the right amount of color. After washing my face and exfoliating, do not apply any serum or moisturizer! Apply one wipe to your face, neck, and decolletage - you want them to be all the same color when you're wearing a v-neck! Continue applying until wipe is fairly dry - that means all the product has been absorbed. To guarantee your bronze glow doesn't come out streaky, use the wipe quickly across the main sections of your face and then again after you've finished your neck and decolletage, go back over your face buffing in circles, which will continue to spread out the color and keep it from being streaky. Another Sephora tip - they will give you a sample of the wipe if you just ask - and they come individually packaged so you don't need to worry about it drying out before you have a chance to use it. The individual packaging also makes them easy for travel!

    Have fun faux-tanning :)

    1. Oh my goodness! Where have you been my whole pale life?? But seriously! I'm printing this off and taking to Sephora ASAP! I have been busy with school and work so I've been rocking the paleness but, after this recommendation I have to go get some :) be on the look for how it turns out, I'll be sure to post the end results!
